Vashti Bunyan

Vashti Bunyan released her album Just Another Diamond Day in 1970, so she has been around for quite some time. I honestly had trouble deciding which songs of hers to post, because they are all so good. Vashti’s music is about as carefree as folk music can get, which is why I love it. It evokes such great “spring” imagery that you can’t help but be happy when you listen to it. That being said, there are a few songs interspersed throughout the album with a more melancholy tone that act as a cloud over the sun for a brief time, but it adds to the beauty that is the whole collection.

Wow… I really should have listened to this album instead of her second one. The first two tracks you posted are quite nice.

I rather think her whole album is great. I had a hard time picking the ones i was going to post. Debut albz are almost always better than others… You know the rule: “Once and album is sold, you’re a sellout.”

Haha, just randomly came upon this post…my favorite is ‘Rose Hip November’. The song is absolutely breathtaking, I’m serious.

One day, I’m going to meet miss Bunyan. And I’m going to shake her hand and tell her thank you.
